Colin Elliott’s Christian faith influences his life and music. He gave his life to the Lord when he was only 8 years old through the ministry of English evangelist, Dick Saunders. He has now been involved in Gospel music, both in groups and as a solo artist, for over 35 years. Colin started singing at the age of fourteen and has been 'on the road' ever since. Colin is both a solo artist and also a lead singer with the popular Country/Gospel band, Live Issue.

In 2018, the members of Live Issue recorded their own television series for Revelation TV, featuring many of their friends from the world of Christian music, both from Northern Ireland and the United States. Colin produced and co-hosted this series, which was broadcast in the autumn of 2018. That same year, Colin released a solo worship album entitled, 'More Than A Song' and raised finances to purchase guitars and worship books for fledgling church fellowships throughout Myanmar.

In September 2019, Colin released another solo album entitled 'New Man in Town'. The album received considerable radio airplay throughout the British Isles and further afield.  In the autumn of that same year, Colin toured in Northern Ireland with the top American Bluegrass group, The Isaacs.

In 2024, Colin completed his latest Gospel album entitled, ‘Through the Years’, which contained many original compositions. Some songs from this recording, along with previous solo albums, are available on Spotify and other online streaming services.

Each year, Colin fulfils invitations to sing in various churches in the Southern States of the USA. These tours are an important element of Colin’s music ministry and an opportunity to sing with other artists from the US, as well as deliver solo programmes in various churches in North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

Although Colin is mainly known for his singing and playing ability, both in groups and as a solo artist, he is also a respected record producer and session musician. He recorded and produced four albums for the late George Hamilton IV, the 'International Ambassador of Country Music’, one of which went to number one in the New Christian Music European Gospel and Country Charts, based on requests and radio airplay.

In 2010 Colin produced a 'landmark' album for George Hamilton IV entitled Old Fashioned Hymns and Gospel Songs for Those Who Miss Them! This recording featured many established stars from the Grand Ole Opry and Gospel Music. During this project Colin worked with Dave Moody from Lamon Records in Nashville to record and produce songs for; Pat Boone, George Beverly Shea, Marty Stuart, Charley Pride, Charlie Louvin, Connie Smyth, Joanne and Tommy Cash, Ricky Skaggs, and many more. One of the songs entitled, 'I’m Using My Bible for a Roadmap' was nominated for a prestigious Dove Award in 2011. While working with George Hamilton IV, Colin had the privilege of appearing a number of times as a guest artist on the famous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

More recently, Colin has been one of the main organisers of the Morecambe Gospel Bayfest weekend in the north-west of England. This event has brought Gospel artists together from all parts of the United Kingdom and is held in the Platform Theatre in Morecambe during a weekend in September.

Colin is also involved in supporting ministry work on the tourist island of Tenerife, off the western coast of North Africa. This work began in 2014 and has continued on an annual basis since then.

In November 2022 and 2023, Colin and Live Issue were invited to be the guest artists on cruises on the Rhine and Danube rivers. Since then, Colin has had the opportunity to sing on subsequent river boat cruises on the Douro River in Portugal, the Rhine River in Germany. He has also escorted a group of tourists sampling the musical highlights of Tennessee.

Over the years Colin has recorded many albums and appeared on numerous BBC, commercial and independent radio shows. He has also been featured on and hosted television programmes in Ireland, the UK and America. These appearances have provided Colin with valuable opportunities to share his Christian faith and music with an ever-increasing audience across the United Kingdom and further afield.

Colin’s musical experiences have been very wide and varied and this is well illustrated in his song writing ability. Although his repertoire contains dozens of familiar songs, Colin also performs many which he has penned himself. His songs are regularly requested on radio shows and many have inspired people throughout Ireland and across the world.

In 2025, Colin formed a trio comprising of Leigh Brown on lead guitar and Tim Boyle on bass. In January 2026, the band became Mercy Junction and you can find out more about the band on this website. Their arrangements of Colin’s original songs and other material from his extensive repertoire bring a whole new dynamic to Colin’s music ministry.

Colin’s singing ministry has been in great demand in recent years, bringing the Good News of the Gospel in song. His musical style can merge repertoires of country, worship and contemporary music to suit any audience or age group.
